Indiana firefighters have had a busy week, capped on Saturday by a summons for a possible structure fire near the Eisenhower Elementary School that was handled quickly with the aid of Indiana Borough Police.
In a Facebook post, the Indiana Fire Association says the homeowner on South Wine Avenue was burning weeds in the driveway and “stepped inside for a short break,” but looked outside to find three bushes afire next to the house. After the 911 call, police arrived and kept the siding cool while the bushes burned themselves out. Firefighters then checked for extension and vented some smoke from inside the home.
The Fire Association credits “quick recognition, a quick 911 call, and a quick response.”
