Police in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania say a Queens man stole the ashes of a woman’s daughter – and held them for ransom.
The bizarre series of events started last week when the boss of the nail salon where he worked called the police on Nuo Chen of Flushing. She had fired the 30-year-old for acting erratically towards customers, then smashed up the salon claiming she owed him money. Police say he drove her car to her home, having been given the keys to both, and stole an urn holding the woman’s daughter’s ashes. Chen demanded more than seven-thousand dollars for them and set up a meeting at the salon.
Police caught him walking out of the salon with no urn – and the ashes in a shopping bag.
