For the second time in a week, the Pirates shuffled the Altoona Curve roster, yesterday activating infielders Jack Brannigan and Jesus Castillo from the injured list, sending infielder Carlos Caro back to Greensboro, and returning catcher Derek Berg to the Curve from Indianapolis.
The Pirates also transferred pitcher Dominic Perachi’s rehab assignment to Bradenton and pitcher Dominic Pipkin began his rehab stint with the Florida Coast League Pirates.
The Curve were blasted by Akron last night, 14-6. Javier Rivas and Duce Gourson both hit ninth-inning home runs and Brannigan had two hits.
Matt Ager starts for Altoona tonight.
