Indiana Borough Council will hold a work session tonight with a few motions on the agenda.
One of the motions is to approve a resolution to authorize the borough manager to serve as a signatory for documents related to the PennDOT Transportation Set-Aside money that was awarded in the 2026 round. Indiana will receive $38,000 to improve traffic and pedestrian safety along the Philadelphia Street Corridor, installing flashing stop signs at key approaches, and purchasing a portable message board for real-time safety alerts to pedestrian visibility. The money will also be used to support crash reduction goals and advance the Borough’s vision of a safer, walkable community.
Council will also look to approve a resolution authorizing the administration department to apply for and administer Strategic Management Planning Program Phase Four, and to approve event requests for the Great Church Outreach event on August 16th at IRMC Park and for a Cornhole Tournament and Band concert on Carpenter Avenue on August 22nd.
The meeting starts at 7:00 tonight at the George E. Hood Municipal Building.
