The Altoona Curve, playing as the Mud Turtles for the weekend, beat the Chesapeake Baysox 10-8 with a 15 hit performance. Six different Altoona hitters had at least two hits during the game. Titus Dumitru hit his tenth homer of the season as part of a 2-RBI night. Javier Rivas and Shalin Polanco also had two RBI’s each.
Connor Oliver got a no-decision, going 4 and 2/3rds innings and striking out four while allowing three runs on two hits. The win went to Jake Shirk, who went two and thirds innings with two strikeouts and one run on two hits.
The two teams play again tonight. Connor Weitgrefe will start for the Curve.
