The Pirates have shaken up their minor league rosters, promoting catcher Derek Berg, infielder Keiner Delgado, and pitchers Khristian Curtis, Jaden Woods, and Derek Diamond from Altoona to Indianapolis; Pitchers Jarod Bayless and Brandon Neeck have been sent to Altoona from Indy; and infielder Carlos Caro, outfielder Shalin Polanco, and pitcher Connor Oliver have been promoted from High-A Greensboro to Altoona.
Altoona outfielder Lonnie White Jr., who’s been their best hitter in the last month, was placed on the seven-day injured list, retroactive to Sunday.
All of the roster transactions made it difficult to get everyone assembled for the Curve in time for their game against Chesapeake last night. Manager Andy Fox used a bullpen game, starting Josh Loeschorn, who gave up three runs in the fourth inning. The Baysox scored five more in the sixth and seventh and cruised to an 11-4 win.
Javier Rivas had three hits for the Curve, and Ivan Brethowr, and Titus Dumitru and Duce Gourson all had two.
Peyton Stumbo pitches for the Curve tonight.
