Steelers OTAs are voluntary and a number of veteran players were absent yesterday at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex, leaving more time for younger players to get reps.
Coach Mike McCarthy can’t wait to get to St. Vincent College for training camp next month, and he says his players should use the time between now and the start of camp wisely.
McCarthy says his players had better be ready to get to work when training camp arrives.
The Steelers yesterday added another punter, undrafted rookie Aidan Laros, who was released by Tampa Bay. He averaged 44.9 yards per punt for Kentucky last year. Wide receiver Brandon Johnson was placed on waivers to open a roster spot for Laros.
