Purchase Line earned its way into the state Class A tournament with a 10-5 win over Conemaugh Valley, but the Red Dragons came up short in their first round PIAA game, falling to Union Area, 12-9. Trailing 12-3 in the seventh, PL scored six runs, but couldn’t make up the deficit. Audessa Beer had a double and drove in three runs. Leah Nelson had three hits and Lillian Stauffer and Aunika Brooks each had two. Rylee Mahaffey drove in two runs.
Purchase Line ends a fine season with a 17-5 record.
