A missing witness is leading to the postponed start of a trial for a man accused in a Westmoreland County shooting.
In December of 2022, 31-year-old James Hayes was found fatally shot in a parking lot near an apartment complex in New Kensington. Larry Nix faces charges including criminal homicide and his trial was to have begun yesterday.
That start was delayed when prosecutors told the court Monday that a witness key to their case could not be found.
