The PIAA has announced the details on where some of the first round baseball and softball playoff games will be played. The opening round starts Monday for most of the state.
Indiana, as expected, will begin it’s PIAA quad-A baseball championship defense with a game at the White Township Recreation Complex at 4:30 PM. In preparation for that, the Indiana School District is implementing a one-hour early dismissal. The district is being asked to have the East Pike parking lot used as an overflow lot for the fields. The early dismissal will allow buses to complete their runs and get students out of parking lots prior to the start of the game. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 and everyone is encouraged to wear red if you are attending the game. If you can’t make it, it will be on Renda Digital TV starting at 4:10 with the pre-game show. The broadcast is sponsored by Force Turf Solutions and by Marcus and Mack.
Meanwhile, Homer-Center will hit the road to McConnellsburg High School to face Southern Fulton in the opening round of the PIAA single-A playoffs. That game will start at 7:00 and we’ll have it on WCCS AM 1160 and 101.1 FM starting at 6:40 with the pre-game show.
In Softball, Purchase Line will be in action on Monday head to New Castle to play Union at 4:00.
