IUP’s Provost and Vice President for academic affairs was invited to present at the PA Chamber of Business and Industry’s Healthcare Summit earlier this month.
Dr. Laura Luetkehans was part of a panel for “Building the Healthcare Workforce of Tomorrow: Challenges, Innovation and Partnerships.” The event featured business and healthcare leaders from across the state and the nation. In a statement, Luetkehans said that it was an honor to be part of the summit and to discuss a wide variety of topics, including the problems facing rural healthcare and the development of the workforce needed to serve those communities in Pennsylvania.
IUP has recently announced that applications are being accepted for the first class of the university’s new College of Osteopathic Medicine. The program is now in pre-accreditation status from the American Osteopathic Association’s Commission on Osteopathic College Accredidation. First day of classes for the program are scheduled for the 2027-28 fall semester.
