Major upgrades continue at Saylor Park in Burrell Township, where the advisory board overseeing the work plans ten projects over the next three years.
A post from Burrell Township Parks & Recreation says a water and sewer-line project is almost complete and a new restroom is progressing at the Floyd Hilty Creekfront Beach. Other new installations include picnic tables, grills and other benches to enjoy the scenery, and a “gaga pit” near the playground for children (Gaga Ball is a gentler version of dodgeball, played in an enclosed area called a “gaga pit”.)
Additional projects in development include dugouts for the softball and baseball fields; a two-phase repair and expansion plan for the parking area, road and track; a stage; enhancements to the tree grove and flower mound; an ice skating rink; and climbing rocks.
