Even though gas prices are still on the rise, PennDOT is expecting a busier than normal day on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Once again, construction is suspended for the weekend so travel can be safer on the state toll road. Today is expected to be the most congested day on the turnpike as PennDOT is predicting around 706,000 travelers. The lowest-travelled day of the four-day weekend is expected to be Monday with 463,000. A total of 2,179,000 drivers are predicted to take the turnpike this weekend. That’s a 2% increase in the number of travelers over last year.
Once again, people are reminded that state police will be out in full force this weekend so make sure that you are wearing your seatbelt and to never drink and drive.
