S&T Bank is getting ready for its annual fundraiser to benefit the Alex’s Lemonade Stand foundation.
The charity is named for Alexandra Scott, who raised money for childhood cancer research as she was battling the disease herself. Before her passing in 2004, she raised $1 million and inspired others to host lemonade stands in her memory. The foundation that bears her name has raised over $300 million to help change the lives of children affected by cancer for the better.
In the three years that S&T Bank has held efforts to help the organization, over $250,000 has been raised. That is expected to grow with this year’s events, which will run from May 30th to June 6th as lemonade stands will be set up at various S&T locations across the company’s footprint. Director of Branch Banking Jodi Presloid said in a statement that the success is “proof positive of our people-forward purpose having a real impact in the lives of others.
