In the District 6 Class A softball playoffs, Homer-Center fought back from a 7-1 deficit, tying their game with Juniata Valley at 9 before the Hornets scored in the bottom of the sixth to down the Wildcats, 10-9. Bry Haer, Madison Brendlinger, and Khylie Beer all had two hits for Homer-Center, Bekah Marshall drove in three runs, and Bri Birchall drove in two.
Juniata Valley will go on to play Conemaugh Valley, an 18-9 winner over Portage.
Purchase Line gave up a run in the top of the first, but grabbed the lead with two runs in the bottom of the inning and added another in the third to beat Bishop McCort, 3-1. Kaitlyn Houser led the way with two doubles and three runs driven in. Leah Nelson had two hits for the Red Dragons. Rylee Mahaffey struck out ten for the win.
Next up for Purchase Line is a semifinal game against Claysburg-Kimmel, an 11-1 winner over Penns Manor.
In Class 3A, number one seed Bedford topped Cambria Heights, 3-0.
