Altoona split a doubleheader with Harrisburg last night, losing the opener, 3-1, and winning the nightcap, 2-0.
Duce Gourson and Callan Moss each banged out two doubles in the first game but the Curve stranded eleven runners and went only 3-for-12 with runners in scoring position, managing only one run out of those three hits. Khristian Curtis was the hard-luck loser.
In the second game, Titus Dumitru knocked a two-run homer in the seventh inning for the game’s only runs. The Curve used a bullpen game, with starter Jake Shirk going three innings, and Cy Nielson, and Emmanuel Chapman each going two in the seven-hit shutout.
Connor Wietgrefe starts for the Curve tonight.
