First responders answered two calls for fires yesterday.
The first was a vehicle fire and was reported at 11:49 a.m. on Oakland Avenue in Indiana Borough. Indiana Fire Association was sent at the time.
The other was a reported brush fire at 2:52 p.m. for a location on Newhouse Road somewhere in Westmoreland County. Blairsville fire crews were sent to assist.
Crews were also called out for a structure fire early this morning. It was reported at 2:53 at a 6-unit apartment building located on 11th street in Indiana Borough. Fire officials say that the blaze started in a trash can and spread to an exterior staircase. The main building was not damaged, and most of the crews called for assistance were recalled. No one was injured or displaced.
