The new Welcome Center of Indiana County will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony today.
The center is located in the former First Commonwealth Bank’s downtown branch at the intersection of 6th and Philadelphia Streets that was donated to the county by the financial institution. It will house the offices of the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Indiana and the Indiana County Tourist Bureau, who have spent the last few months moving into the new office space.
The building will also serve as the new permanent home of the Chamber Business Hall of Fame, including a new touch-screen system to access the stories of all the inductees to the hall. It will also feature a new souvenir shop inside the bank vault.
The ribbon cutting will be held at 4:30 this afternoon, and we will stream that live on our Facebook page.
