The former treasurer of a Derry Township animal shelter is pleading guilty to animal neglect charges.
More than 200 cats were taken in 2023 from a Blairsville mobile rescue center operated by the Cat Aid Network. Reports say the facility had no litter boxes and urine and feces were found everywhere. Some of the cats rescued from the mobile center were found to have suffered permanent damage from long untreated upper respiratory issues. Thirteen died.
Pamela Curry — now having pleaded guilty — is being sentenced to one year of probation.
