Pennsylvania officials are responding to the shooting that happened during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington over the weekend.
Governor Josh Shapiro shared his thoughts on social media Saturday night, saying political violence is “never okay”. Senators Dave McCormick and John Fetterman posted similar messages online, sharing gratitude for law enforcement who stopped the shooter before he took any lives. The gunman has been arrested and identified as 31-year-old California man Cole Tomas Allen. NBC News reports Allen was armed with multiple guns and knives and intended to harm members of the Trump Administration.
A Secret Service agent who was wearing body armor is the only person who was shot. He is expected to be ok.
