BASEBALL
After Tuesday’s 2-1 nail-biter for Indiana over Knoch, the Knights turned it around at the White Township Recreation Complex, winning 1-0 in the rematch. Indiana’s Chase Force singled twice and walked, and his sizzling line drive into the gap in left was caught for the final out. Indiana was held to five hits and had five walks as well, and they loaded the bases twice, including with nobody out in the fifth, but couldn’t get a run home. Knoch’s Hunter Lang struck out nine batters. For Indiana, Sully Vanhoose gave up a run on an infield hit, a passed ball, and a groundout in the first. He gave up just three hits and struck out ten.
Indiana is 10-2, 7-1 in their Section, and tied for first place with Valley, against whom they’ll play twice next week. Valley beat Highlands 9-4 yesterday.
SOFTBALL
Rylin Blystone had four hits, with two doubles and four RBIs, and Sophia Boyer had three hits, including a home run and a double, as Indiana trounced Highlands, 15-3, improving the Indians to 11-3 overall, 9-1 in WPIAL 4A Section 1.
Bry Haer and Madison Brendlinger each had three hits and Homer-Center put up an eight-run fifth inning, highlighted by Isabelle Rowland’s three-run triple, to close out Conemaugh Township, 14-4. Makena Riley had three hits and Addi Lasure two for the Indians.
