A Punxsutawney man was cited after police said he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a parked vehicle and a utility pole early Saturday in Jefferson County.
According to state police, the crash occurred around 3:04 a.m. along Route 36 when the driver’s pickup struck a parked car, then continued through a yard before hitting a utility pole and a road sign. The driver suffered suspected minor injuries but was not taken to a hospital.
Authorities said the vehicle was towed from the scene, and the driver was cited for a lane violation.
