UPDATE: Fire crews said that the brush fire reported this morning was a controlled burn, and they told the resident that the fire had to be put out due to an ongoing burn ban in Center Township. The fire company’s request was carried out as the resident used dirt to smother the fire.
No major damage was reported.
WHAT WAS FIRST REPORTED
Two fire companies are on the scene of the 28th brush fire call for Indiana County this year.
The fire was reported just after 7:00 this morning behind A&G Auto Parts on the northbound side of Route 119 in Center Township. Homer City and Coral-Graceton fire departments are there now working to put the fire out.
