A motions hearing is scheduled for today for a woman from Montgomery County who is charged with engaging in inappropriate conversations with a minor from Indiana County she was teaching.
Court documents show that today’s hearing involves 62-year-old Rebecca Jean Kaelin of North Wales. She faces a single count of corruption of minors from an incident on December 20th of 2023. State police Troop A’s investigative team was called in at that time to investigate accusations made in a child welfare report and discovered she reportedly engaged in inappropriate conversations with a 17-year-old girl from Rayne Township enrolled as a student in a cyber school. The conversations were caught on the family’s in-home nanny cam. The victim’s family also reported changes in behaviors and thoughts during that time, and Kaelin also reportedly mailed the victim a book for “mature young adults” and planned to mail her a cell phone. Kaelin also reportedly discussed plans for the victim to live with her after graduation.
Along with a motion to suppress evidence, President Judge Thomas Bianco, a writ of habeas corpus will also be dealt with.
