IUP has a three-stroke lead after the first round of the Cecil C. Spadafora Invitational at the Indiana Country Club. The Crimson Hawks shot a combined 293 yesterday, with both West Chester and UPJ both coming in at 296.
IUP’s Guillermo Salazar is one shot off the lead after shooting even par 71, trailing only UPJ’s Eli Ropieski. Ben De Castro is two strokes further back, in an eighth place tie, with Alex Swinnerton tied for fourteenth, at three over, and Indiana High grad Trevor Todd one shot in back of him at four over.
The final round tees off today at 10 AM.
