The Penguins did not play yesterday but it was a rough day anyway, with the news that rugged center Blake Lizotte is out indefinitely and will be evaluated in four weeks for an undisclosed upper body injury. That will put him out for the rest of the regular season. Lizotte was seen with a cast on his right hand yesterday.
Lizotte’s absence would be eased by the return of Sidney Crosby, who has not played for the Penguins since February 5th. He was injured in the Olympics and while he is practicing, seemingly at full speed, he’s not returned to the lineup.
Expect a roster move today before the Penguins take the ice in Raleigh against the Metro Division-leading Carolina Hurricanes. After playing the last game of their five-city road trip, the Penguins will play three straight at home, Saturday against Winnipeg, Sunday against Carolina, and Tuesday against Colorado.
Penguins pregame tonight begins at six o’clock on 92.5 FM, U92, with faceoff shortly after seven.
