A Clymer woman is facing felony charges after state police say she abandoned an injured dog in Indiana County.
31-year-old Palina Williams was charged February 24th with aggravated cruelty to animals and intimidation of witnesses, along with other related offenses. She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Sottile and is being held in the Indiana County Jail on 100,000 dollars bail.
Police say Williams left the mixed-breed dog along Valley Road in Green Township on February 20th. The dog was found the next day by a passerby and taken to a veterinarian, where it was treated for two pelvic fractures and other injuries.
Investigators also allege Williams asked an acquaintance to kill the dog and later shared nude photos of that person to keep them from speaking with authorities.
A preliminary hearing is set for March 5th. The dog continues to receive veterinary care.
