A central Pennsylvania amusement company has pleaded guilty to a felony tied to illegal gambling machines across the state.
Attorney General Dave Sunday says Schuylkill County–based Deibler Brothers Novelty Company pleaded guilty to corrupt organizations. A judge sentenced the company to probation and ordered it to forfeit three million dollars in cash and assets. Authorities say the company installed hundreds of illegal video gambling devices in bars, convenience stores, and other locations in more than a dozen counties, often using deceptive signs to make them look legal.
Officials add the company’s owners were linked to a former state trooper who recently pleaded guilty to money laundering in a related case. The multi-year investigation targeted illegal video gambling operations statewide.
