On Tuesday, the White Township Planning Commission tentatively approved reconstruction plans for the Sheetz on Ben Franklin Road.
The project will move the gas pumps and canopy to one side of the property, add square footage to the store and eliminate the car wash. Sheetz Real Estate Entitlement Manager Kelley Brown said that while the car wash is being removed, it will improve some things.
The location will close completely from March of 2026 and will reopen in early August. The stormwater plan for the site is needed for final approval.
The commission also gave conditional approval for the final site plan for the amphitheater project at the White Township Rec Complex. The staging area will be 26 feet by 52 feet, with a roof 22 feet eight inches high with a paved area for ADA accessible seating. Construction will get underway in the next couple of months. Approval of the stormwater plan is needed for final authorization.
