High winds on Saturday made for a busy day for Indiana County’s first responders, with multiple dispatches for weather-related incidents. There were calls for Vintondale firefighters for utility lines down along Route 403 South in Buffington Township, for the Creekside Fire Company for lines down on Five Points Road in Armstrong Township, and Blairsville and Black Lick for lines down on Newport Road in Burrell Township. Plumville firefighters were sent to handle a tree down on Five Points Road in Washington Township.
Other 911 calls on Saturday included three dispatches for Indiana firefighters: for a carbon monoxide alert along East Shryock Avenue, for a smoke investigation along North Ben Franklin Road, and for traffic control on Zehner Road. Glen Campbell firefighters were summoned for a tire fire along Arcadia Road in Montgomery Township.
