Monday night, Indiana Borough Council approved a proposal from EIS Solar and Raymond James financial for a solar project at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The project was approved about a year and a half ago and will install solar panels at the plant. The project will be funded by a $1 million bond issue handled by Raymond James, with roughly $900,000 covering the work, and another $100,000 in fees. Hal Saville with EIS said that the solar panels will help supply electricity at the facility and help the borough save money.
Speaking of the Wastewater Treatment Plant, the council approved applying for PennVest funding along with a resolution to use the PennVest funds to reimburse the general fund concerning improvements at the facility.
Council also approved the 2025 borough budget. While the other items necessary to fund borough operations were approved in December, the budget itself was accidentally overlooked.
