Pitt battled Wake Forest down to the wire yesterday but the Panthers struggled to make baskets down low and lost a close ACC game, 76-74.
Pitt shot only 42.9 percent from the field but still matched the Demon Deacons in the total number of field goals made (24). But Wake Forest, shooting 28.2 percent on three-point shots coming into the game, shot 42.1 percent yesterday, making 8 of 19 attempts on threes.
Damian Dunn scored 24 points to lead the Panthers, Ish Leggett added 16, and Jaland Lowe scored 14.
Pitt fell to 14-7, 5-5 in the ACC. They will play Virginia at home on Monday night.
