Indiana County’s unemployment rate dropped in the month of November.
The PA Department of Labor and Industry said that Indiana County’s rate went down three-tenths of a percentage point to 4.3 percent. This followed a trend of falling unemployment rates seen in the state and the nation, as each dropped a tenth of a percentage point to 3.5 percent and 4.2 percent respectively.
Comparing Indiana County to the surrounding area, Clearfield tied with Indiana at 4.3 percent for the highest rate in the region. Westmoreland County had a 3.8 percent unemployment rate, Jefferson County checked in at 4.0 percent, Armstrong County is at 4.1 percent, and Cambria County had 4.2 percent.
Total non-farm jobs were essentially unchanged over the month at 30,300. Jobs in the nine published industry super sectors were essentially unchanged over the month.
