Indiana County saw its most significant rainfall on Sunday following several weeks of severely dry conditions.
According to the most recent weather information recorded at the Pennsylvania American Water Company’s Two Lick Filter Plant, Indiana County received 1.13 inches of rain in the 24-hour period from 7 AM Sunday to 7 AM today. This brings the total amount of rainfall for the year to 45.44 inches.
While the rain was refreshing, it was still not enough to lighten conditions for wildfires. Should the area see fewer droplets over the next few weeks, a countywide burn ban may be put in place. Indiana County’s Commissioners will discuss that at their November 20th meeting.
