A Rural Valley man faces charges of attempted homicide for a stabbing on Tuesday.
State police were called out to a home along West Main Street in Rural Valley borough at 10:30 PM on August 20th for the incident. Troopers said that the victim and a witness were in the living room of the witness’ home when 48-year-old Andrew Berry allegedly came in unannounced and stabbed the victim in the chest. Reports say the victim was Berry’s ex-wife’s boyfriend.
The woman was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment. Berry also faces felony charges of burglary and aggravated assault, misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment. He remains in Armstrong County Jail as he was unable to post $250,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:00 PM on August 27th in front of District Judge Kevin McCausland.
