Indiana Regional Medical Center and IUP have posted advance notices for the upcoming fireworks celebration at Mack Park.
As part of the annual Star Spangled Celebration being put on by the YMCA of Indiana County, fireworks will be fired off on the 4th of July around 9:45 PM. IRMC reminds people that its parking lots and campus will not be open for public viewing or parking on that day. The reason why is to make sure that the hospital area is open for patients and those visiting the hospital to park, and to allow emergency vehicles uninterrupted access to the facilities itself.
IUP has announced that as part of its summer utilities savings program, offices and buildings on the main campus will be closed July 1st to the 5th. Most IUP offices will be closed on the 4th of July while employees will work remotely on the other days. And in compliance with past practice, IUP will not restrict access to the Wayne Avenue, Stadium South or Stadium North parking lots, but parking will be restricted at the KCAC VIP Parking lot and the South Campus parking lots near the softball and baseball fields. University Drive will also close from 7:30 to 11 PM on the 4th. All regulations for reserve spaces, handicapped spaces, visitor reserved and others will be enforced. Vehicles in violation may be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense.
