The Steelers are taking a chance on Cam Sutton, whom they’ve signed to a one-year contract following his release by the Detroit Lions after an alleged domestic violence incident.
Sutton was the Steelers’ third round draft choice in 2017 and played six seasons in Pittsburgh before signing a big free agent deal with Detroit.
A warrant for his arrest was issued on March 7th after his girlfriends accused him of domestic battery by strangulation and he remained a fugitive until turning himself in on March 31st. The charges were reduced to misdemeanor battery and he entered a pretrial diversion program in April. He will face disciplinary action from the NFL.
Sutton participated in OTAs with the Steelers yesterday.
