The Windy Ridge industrial park in White Township will receive a $1 million state grant to help with improvements at the site.
The money is part of over $10.6 million that were awarded by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development through the PA Strategic investments to Enhance Sites (PA SITES) pilot program. The goal is to make several sites “shovel-ready” to attract more businesses and attract good-paying jobs. This marks the first round of grant funding to come from the program, which started accepting applications in September of last year. DCED secretary Rick Siger said that there is significant demand for this investment across the state, as 102 applications were received requesting more than $236 million in funding.
The money allocated to the Windy Ridge park will be used for engineering, environmental cleanup, demolition and the construction and site prep for a 500-foot extension of roadway to lot 21 and an intersection connecting to lot 1. Funds will also be used for streetlights, utility facilities, signs, sanitary sewer, stormwater management and erosion and sediment control.
