TRACK & FIELD
At the Heritage Conference Track & Field Championships at United yesterday, United won the boys team championship, with Conemaugh Township finishing second and Northern Cambria third. For the girls, Conemaugh township took the title, followed by Cambria Heights and River Valley.
Multiple winners for the boys included Michael Konitsky of Northern Cambria, in the 200 and 400; Alex Polenik of Penns Manor in the discus and shot put, including a discuss toss that flew over 57 feet further than the next longest fling; And Jackson Sotosky of Conemaugh Township, who won three events: the high jump, triple jump, and pole vault.
Multiple winners for the girls included Izzy Slezak of Conemaugh Township, in the 100 and 200; Sara McConnell of river Valley, in the 400 and the 300 hurdles; Emily Jackson of River Valley, in the discus and shot put; and Brielle McMillen of Cambria Heights, in the long jump and triple jump.

Heritage Conference Championships
BASEBALL
The Teddy Bear Fund Drive Baseball Classic yesterday featured two games, with Homer-Center in both of them in a doubleheader at First Commonwealth Bank Field. The Wildcats took on River Valley in Game One and West Shamokin in Game Two.

Homer-Center plays at Purchase Line today and if they win, they win the Heritage Conference West and will play East winner Conemaugh Township on Monday for the conference championship. If they lose, River Valley has a chance, with two games today at Marion Center and a game tomorrow at Northern Cambria.
Indiana allowed just a run in the first inning, and a run in the 10th as they fell to Elizabeth Forward, 2-1. Indiana scored its run in the 5th. Ethan Shank had two hits and Ben Ryan doubled. Andrew McGee, Greg Minnick, Ryan, and Sully Van Hoose combined to strike out 16 batters, but Indiana batters struck out 14 times.
SOFTBALL
With some players missing because they were competing in the Heritage Conference Track & Field Championships, shorthanded Marion Center suffered its first conference loss of the season, as River Valley beat the Stingers.
Indiana completed a perfect 11-0 regular season with a 17-3 win over Greensburg Central Catholic yesterday.
Laken Kugler and Kyla Weaver each scored 4 goals and Kate Lehman had 2 goals and passed the 200 mark for draw controls with nine in the game. Gabby Sharp had 2 goals, and Sara Fisher, Ava Elliott, Samantha Lawson, Zoe Wright, and Anna Buterbaugh each scored goals. On defense Addie Lockard and Addie Hutton each had three ground balls.
Buterbaugh had two saves in the first quarter and Ava Thomas racked up 10 saves in three quarters in goal.
Indiana finishes the regular season as undefeated Section champs with an overall 13-2 record heading into the WPIAL playoffs.

There is Renda Digital TV today for two Indiana games. The baseball team welcomes Obama Academy at 4 o’clock (3:50 airtime), and the boys lacrosse team is in action at 7 against Quaker Valley.
