Drivers entering SouthTowne Plaza in White Township tomorrow will encounter a road project as milling and resurfacing work is scheduled for Plaza Road from the main entry to the intersection of Anderson Road. The plaza is the home to WalMart and other stores. Access to First Commonwealth Bank and the McDonalds may be limited at times and there will be delays in the work area. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers. The contractor will be applying pavement markings to the new road surface in the evening. Plaza Road will not be closed during the one-day project.
Also on the Monday schedule, a contractor for Pennsylvania American Water Company will resurface Country Club Drive starting at about 11 AM. The new pavement will restore a section of road that was excavated for a water line project.
And a reminder that we are about a week away from the closure of Carter Avenue, which runs next to the Mack Park Fairgrounds in White Township. Pre-demolition work continues there for the replacement of two culverts that carry Marsh Run under Wayne Avenue and Carter Avenue near the KCAC. The closure of Carter Avenue will begin May 6th. It’s an $11.9 million PennDOT project that is expected to be completed in October.
