PennDOT has announced the list of projects that they have already started work on and will work on this year.
One area of focus of PennDOT and the Shapiro Administration has been bridges. In 2023, PennDOT repaired or replaced 23 bridges and fixed about 1000 miles of road in District 10, which includes Indiana, Armstrong, Butler, Clarion and Jefferson Counties.
Projects that started or will start this year for Indiana County will include:
- Replacing the bridge that carries Route 403 over Pine Run in Marion Center with a box culvert which will wrap up by next winter.
- A landslide correction project along Park Road in Young Township that will be completed in Spring of next year.
- Safety improvements at the intersection of Indian Springs and Rustic Lodge Road that are part of an overall project that will be complete in Fall of 2026.
- Replacing a bridge that carries South 6th Street over Yellow Creek in White, Center and Brush Valley Townships that will wrap up in the fall of 2025.
One bridge project is continuing this construction season in Indiana County. That is the replacement project for structures carrying Marsh Run under Wayne and Carter Avenues with Box Culverts. That project is projected to wrap up this fall.
