The River Valley School Board approved a motion to give $10,000 to Burrell Township Parks and Recreation to help with Saylor Park.
The money will be used to setup electricity at the baseball and softball fields to allow River Valley’s teams to play there. However, the money does come with a string attached, and according to Board President Rick Harper, that string is a five-year agreement that allows the teams to play there.
Speaking of sports, Harper said during his buildings and grounds report that the playing surface has been put in place for the new football field, and work continues on the grandstand. While the field will be ready for the upcoming football season, the fieldhouse will not be The teams will have to change in the school until the new fieldhouse is ready.
