The Homer-Center Wildcats downed New Castle, 5-2, Saturday in Heritage Conference baseball.
Homer-Center scored two in the first inning when Brayden Rado led off with a single and later scored on Owen Saiani’s base hit. Ethan Palmer then singled in Saiani. The Wildcats added two more runs in the top of the third on a Nate Birchall walk and another Saiani single. Rado then scored on a Palmer groundout. Homer-Center capped its afternoon with a Saiani safety squeeze that scored Rado in the fifth.
Saiani earned the win with a complete-game 3-hitter, striking out nine and walking two.
The Wildcats are 7-3, 5-3 in the Heritage Conference.
Homer-Center will take on Penns Manor on Tuesday.
