A man from Northern Cambria now faces charges of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.
Court documents show that 18-year-old Thomas McKendrick is charged with involuntary deviate sexual assault of someone under 16 and statutory sexual assault. The investigation started after an anonymous tip was received by State Police in Indiana that said he was having sexual relations with a 14-year-old. The victim told police that she started talking with him in March, and was communicating via SnapChat starting in April with him picking her up from school on April 7th and from an aunt’s house on April 8th. He allegedly drove her to his home to have relations with her, and returned her to her aunt on April 9th. When police interviewed McKendrick, he admitted to the crimes.
He is free on $50,000. No word yet on when his trial will take place.
