The Central Allegheny Challenger Learning Center took another step closer to completion with a cooperation agreement that was approved earlier today during the Indiana County Commissioners meeting.
The agreement through the county’s Office of Planning and Development gives the county the authority to administer a $1.495 million grant through NASA for the installation of furniture, fixtures and equipment related to the center that will be located on the campus of the Indiana County Technology Center.
Julia Trimarchi-Cuccaro with the CACLC said that this grant will help with a major step forward in the construction of the building.
In other business, the commissioners also approved a resolution authorizing an agreement with PennDOT to accept $2,816,881 in federal funds through the transportation improvement program and commits existing match funding for the construction of the proposed Route 22 Pedestrian-Bike bridge in Burrell Township and any related costs.
