State police have apprehended a Clymer man who was wanted on multiple warrants and a woman was also arrested for harboring him at her home in Strongstown.
Troopers say 44-year-old Randy Bertuzzi was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon. At 1:41 PM, a patrolman was on stationary patrol in Pine Township when he saw a black Nissan pickup truck that fit the description of a vehicle known to be driven by Bertuzzi. The trooper followed to try to get the license number, but the truck abruptly turned into a parking lot along Route 422 and the driver, later identified as Bertuzzi, got out and fled the scene on foot. The truck was seized but responding troopers were unable to find him.
At 11:54 PM, troopers were called to the home of 40-year-old Becky Davis after receiving a tip that he was there. Police found Bertuzzi in the attic and had to use a taser to subdue him. He was taken into custody at that point, along with Davis.
Bertuzzi was wanted for three protection from abuse violations along with an assault and burglary, all of which took place at a home in Pine Township. He is now in Indiana County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. Meanwhile, Davis is charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution. She is also in Indiana County Jail on $25,000 bail, with a preliminary hearing set for April 23rd.
