More than 8 million Pennsylvania residents are registered to vote in this year’s Primary election on April 23rd, and Democrats have a margin of about 400,000 more voters than Republicans. The Department of State last week released the latest tally of registered voters.
In Indiana County, there are 48,860 registered voters. That includes 27,454 Republicans, 15,137 Democrats, and 4,430 with no affiliation. There are 1,839 voters registered as members of other parties.
So far this year, 8,016 Democrats in the state have switched to another party, compared to 5,191 Republicans. In Indiana County, 37 Democrats and 36 Republicans have switched.
The numbers are through April 8th.
