It’s expected to be a windy day for Indiana County.
The National Weather Service has scheduled a wind advisory for Indiana and Westmoreland Counties that will start at 11 this morning and go to 11 tonight. Winds are expected out of the southeast at 20 to 30 miles an hour today with gusts up to 50 miles an hour also expected today. The gusty winds are expected to blow around any unsecured objects. Tree limbs could also come down due to the high winds, and some power outages could result from the downed tree limbs and power lines.
If you see any downed lines, trees or large branches, the National Weather Service asks that it be reported to them by calling 412-262-1988, or by posting to their Facebook page and their X feed.
Not only are high winds expected today, but so are thunderstorms and heavy rains. A check of your AccuWeather forecast is coming up next.
