At a meeting Wednesday night, the Penns Manor Superintendent announced the board will have to deal with a larger-than-anticipated deficit for the 2024-2025 budget.
Superintendent Daren Johnston said that in recent budget talks, another $40,000 in expenses were discovered, to bring the deficit up to $310,000. He explains where those costs come from.
He expects that the board will try to find other areas to find the money to cover the $40,000, or they will use fund balance money to pay for it.
The board also approved the ICTC budget, with the district’s share coming to $387,302. The board also approved a five-year lease agreement with The Wilson Group for two copiers at a cost of $1,499 a month for 60 months.
