A student from Indiana County was named the recipient of the Patricia Hilliard Robertson Memorial Scholarship.
IUP announced that Cleo McMahan, a biology major from Indiana, was presented with the scholarship as part of the University’s STEM Women’s Summit on Monday. McMahan is a 2020 graduate of Indiana High School, and was recognized for her academic achievements by her department. She plans to attend West Liberty University after graduation to pursue a master’s degree in zoo science.
The scholarship is established in honor of Dr. Hilliard Robertson, a 1985 IUP graduate from Homer City who died in 2001 in Houston from injuries suffered in a private plane crash at Wolfe Air Park. She was preparing to be a crew-support astronaut for the Expedition Two crew to serve aboard the International Space Station.
